Ethan Thompson NBA Debut Patch Sells for $15,000 on eBay, Two Days After It Surfaced

The Ethan Thompson NBA Debut Patch has sold. The card, from 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Basketball, went on eBay on October 8, 2026 for $15,000, with the seller accepting a Best Offer against a $17,250 asking price. eBay’s sold-listing data shows the $15,000 figure; the listing itself only says “Best Offer accepted”, which is how eBay hides the accepted amount from the public page.

It sold as a redemption, not the physical card. The buyer sends the redemption to Topps and waits for the patch autograph to come back, which usually takes weeks. That is the same way Derik Queen’s card changed hands at Fanatics Collect in September, and it is why the tracker treats the first public sighting of either the card or its redemption as the card being found.

Two days from first sighting to sale

This one moved fast. The listing was spotted on October 7 and added to the tracker the same day as the first public record of the card. The seller had started higher, dropped the asking price to $17,250, and took an offer the next day. Who pulled it, and from what kind of break, has not been disclosed.

Where $15,000 sits

The NBA Debut Patch market has two tiers. The lottery picks have gone through Fanatics Collect and Goldin for six and seven figures, led by Cooper Flagg at $8,040,000. Everyone else has mostly sold on eBay, where the recorded sales on the tracker have run from under $5,000 to $65,000. Thompson’s $15,000 lands in the middle of that eBay range, which is about where a two-way player’s card would be expected to sit.

The debut the patch came from

Thompson’s road to the card was longer than most. He played four years at Oregon State, went undrafted in 2021, and spent the next four seasons in the G League (Windy City, Mexico City, Osceola, Sioux Falls, Noblesville), with a two-way deal in Orlando that never produced a game and a training camp in Miami that ended before the season.

Indiana signed him to a two-way contract on December 1, 2025, and played him that night. His NBA debut came against the Cleveland Cavaliers: 7 minutes, 2 points on a fourth-quarter jumper, 1 assist, in a 135-119 Pacers loss. The patch on this card is from that game’s jersey.

He stuck. Thompson played 32 games for the Pacers with 13 starts, averaging 7.0 points in 20.4 minutes, and closed the season with a career-high 24 points against Chicago on April 1, 2026. In August he was reported to have agreed to a deal with Partizan Belgrade.

The tracker

With Thompson’s sale recorded, 15 of the found NBA Debut Patch cards have a public sale on the tracker, and 57 of the 99 cards have surfaced. 42 have not. Every one still missing is on the still out there page.

Live, as of October 9, 2026: 57 of 99 NBA cards found; highest NBA sale $8,040,000, Cooper Flagg.
