Flagg won Rookie of the Year, edging Kon Knueppel 56 first-place votes to 44, and at 19 became the second-youngest winner in the award's history behind LeBron James. He led all rookies at 21 points a game, adding 6.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 46.8% from the field, and was a unanimous All-Rookie First Team pick.
