How the season went
Knueppel led the Rookie of the Year race for much of the season before finishing second to Flagg by 12 first-place votes; several voters said afterwards that his Play-In performance, six points on 2-of-12 shooting, changed their minds. He averaged 18.5 points, shot 42.5% from three (the best mark among rookies with at least 80 attempts) and broke the rookie record for three-pointers in a season.
