Topps added 2026 Topps Chrome Update Series Baseball to its release calendar today, October 19, with pre-orders opening Monday, November 2. No time, price or box configuration yet; the row on the Breaking Analytics release calendar updates on its own the moment Topps posts them.
Why this one matters
Chrome Update is the MLB Debut Patch set. Every player who makes his Major League debut during the season wears a patch on his jersey that night, and that patch comes back as a one-of-one autographed card in this product. The 2025 edition produced the Debut Patch cards that drove the biggest baseball card sales of the past year, and the NBA version of the same idea is what the NBA Debut Patch tracker on this site has followed card by card since August.
Who could be in it
Topps has not published the checklist. What we do know is who debuted. Baseball Reference lists 251 players who made their MLB debut in 2026, and the MLB Debut Patch page on this site has tracked that list all season. The names collectors will be chasing:
- Kevin McGonigle, Tigers. Debuted on opening day, March 26, and finished the year as the most productive rookie in the class.
- JJ Wetherholt, Cardinals. Also an opening-day debut, and the best rookie bat in the National League.
- Travis Bazzana, Guardians. The first overall pick of the 2024 draft, up on April 28.
- Konnor Griffin, Pirates. Debuted April 3 at 19 years old, the youngest name on this list.
- Max Clark, Tigers. A July 31 debut, giving Detroit two of the class’s biggest names.
- Kazuma Okamoto, Blue Jays, and Munetaka Murakami, White Sox. Two established Japanese stars whose first MLB games count as debuts, so each gets a Debut Patch.
- Carson Benge, Mets; Walbert Urena, Angels; Henry Bolte, Athletics; Hagen Smith, White Sox.
Then there are the late-2025 debuts. Last year’s Chrome Update closed its checklist before the season ended, so players who debuted after the cutoff carry over into this set. The MLB Debut Patch page lists the rollover group; the names to watch for include Nolan McLean of the Mets, Trey Yesavage of the Blue Jays, Parker Messick and Chase DeLauter of the Guardians, Sal Stewart of the Reds, and Payton Tolle and Connelly Early of the Red Sox.
What happens next
Topps usually posts the product page a few days before pre-orders open, and that is where the price, the box configuration and whether the hobby box goes through EQL get announced. All of it lands on the calendar row and this site’s bar the same day. When the checklist arrives, the MLB Debut Patch page turns into the tracker, the same two-part record the NBA page keeps: which cards have been pulled, by whom, with the evidence, and which are still out there.
Pre-orders open Monday, November 2. Add the release calendar to your phone and you will have the time the moment Topps posts it.
