Pete Crow-Armstrong MLB Debut Patch Sells for $1,098,000, $12,000 Short of Skenes

The Pete Crow-Armstrong MLB Debut Patch sold at Goldin on the night of September 29 for $1,098,000. It is only the second MLB Debut Patch on record to pass a million dollars, and it finished $12,000 behind the other one: Paul Skenes’ card, which sold for $1,110,000 on Fanatics Collect in March 2025.

The charts, the table and the numbers on this page are rebuilt from our sales record every time the site updates, and are current as of September 29, 2026. The story around them is what happened on September 29, 2026, and stays as written.

The card

2024 Topps Chrome Update, graded PSA 10 with a 10 autograph. The patch is the one Crow-Armstrong wore for his first big league game with the Cubs on September 11, 2023. An MLB authenticator removed it after the game and sealed it with a hologram, and Topps built it into a single card that he signed on-card. The debut date is printed across the bottom of the front.

If a 2023 debut in a 2024 set looks odd, it is how every MLB set works. Each Topps Chrome Update carries the players who debuted from June 1 of the previous year through roughly the end of May, so a September 2023 debut lands in 2024 Chrome Update, the same set as Skenes. Our MLB Debut Patch page applies that rule to every 2025 and 2026 debut, so you can see which set each player’s card will be in before Topps announces it.

Goldin sold it as a standalone auction: one lot, its own page and its own closing night, with extended bidding from 10 PM Eastern. Before it opened, Ken Goldin said he thought it would be “the single most valuable Topps baseball debut patch issued to date.” It came within $12,000 of that. Goldin reported the result as the highest public sale for any Pete Crow-Armstrong card.

Where it sits in baseball

The biggest MLB Debut Patch sales on record, drawn live. On September 29, 2026: Paul Skenes $1,110,000, Pete Crow-Armstrong $1,098,000, Nick Kurtz $516,000, Jackson Holliday $198,000, Wyatt Langford $183,000, James Wood $162,000, Jackson Chourio $105,000, Shota Imanaga $82,961.

Publicly reported sales only. The chart redraws itself as new sales are recorded.

Skenes keeps the MLB record, by about one percent. What changed is the gap underneath him. Until September 29 the next biggest MLB sale was Nick Kurtz’s $516,000 in January, less than half of Skenes. Now there are two baseball cards above a million, and both come from the same set, 2024 Topps Chrome Update.

Where it sits across every sport

Only sales with a public listing or a named report are included. NFL Debut Patch has not released yet.

On the day it sold, Crow-Armstrong’s card was fifth across every sport. The three above Skenes are NBA cards that all sold on one night, September 25, when Cooper Flagg’s NBA Debut Patch went for $8,040,000. That makes five Debut Patches over a million dollars, and four of the five sold in the last week.
