Four cards. One night. $13,422,000.

The Fanatics Collect Premier Auction closed overnight after a long run of extended bidding, and by the time it was done, four NBA Debut Patch one-of-ones from 2025-26 Topps Chrome Update Basketball had sold for more than the entire set had produced before them, put together. Cooper Flagg’s card led at $8,040,000. Dylan Harper’s and Kon Knueppel’s each cleared two million. Derik Queen’s, sold as a redemption, went for $162,000.

This post is about what those four numbers do to the Debut Patch market as a whole, because until last night that market had one number everyone quoted, and it belonged to a pitcher.

The charts and the numbers box on this page are rebuilt from the tracker every time the site updates, and are current as of September 25, 2026. The story around them is what happened on September 25, 2026, and stays as written.

What a Debut Patch is

The program started in baseball, in 2023 Topps Chrome Update. When a player makes his big league debut, the patch on the sleeve of the jersey he wore is removed by an MLB authenticator, sealed with a tamper-proof hologram, and sent to Topps to be built into a single autographed card. There is one card per debut and no second copy of any of them. Topps has since run the same program in MLS, WWE and UFC, added the NBA this year with the set these four cards come from, and has an NFL version planned that has not released yet.

So every Debut Patch is a one-of-one, and a sale of one is not a comp for anything except itself. What the sales do give you is a public record of what people will pay for a player’s first night, and that record moved a long way overnight.

The NBA sales

The five biggest NBA Debut Patch sales, drawn live from the tracker. On September 25, 2026: Cooper Flagg $8,040,000, Dylan Harper $2,880,000, Kon Knueppel $2,340,000, Derik Queen $162,000, Mohamed Diawara $65,000.

On the night, four of the five biggest sales in the set’s history were the same night’s. The chart redraws itself as new sales are recorded.

All four were Fanatics Collect Premier lots. Three are graded; Derik Queen’s sold as an unscratched redemption, so the buyer redeems the physical card through Topps rather than taking delivery from the vault.

Player Card no. Grade Price
Cooper Flagg, Mavericks #DPA-CF, 1/1 PSA 10 $8,040,000
Dylan Harper, Spurs #DPA-DH, 1/1 PSA 9 $2,880,000
Kon Knueppel, Hornets #DPA-KK, 1/1 PSA 10 $2,340,000
Derik Queen, Pelicans #DPA-DQ, 1/1 Unscratched redemption $162,000
Prices as the closed lots show them. Each name opens that card’s page on the tracker, with the pull date, the listing and every sale on record.

Before last night the biggest sale this set had seen was Mohamed Diawara’s card at $65,000 on eBay, ten days ago. Flagg’s went for 124 times that. The eight sales recorded before last night came to $175,794 in total. Last night’s four came to $13,422,000.

Every sport, one list

Here is every publicly reported Debut Patch sale we can source, across all three sports that have one, ranked. The chart is rebuilt whenever a sale is recorded in any sport; the paragraphs under it describe the list as it stood on the morning of September 25. That morning, ten cards made the list, and before the night before, one of them had been from the NBA.

The ten biggest publicly reported Debut Patch sales across all sports, drawn live. On September 25, 2026: Cooper Flagg NBA $8,040,000, Dylan Harper NBA $2,880,000, Kon Knueppel NBA $2,340,000, Paul Skenes MLB $1,110,000, Nick Kurtz MLB $516,000, Cavan Sullivan MLS $324,000, Jackson Holliday MLB $198,000, Wyatt Langford MLB $183,000, James Wood MLB $162,000, Derik Queen NBA $162,000.

Only sales with a public listing or a named report are included. NFL Debut Patch has not released yet.

Update, September 29, 2026: Pete Crow-Armstrong’s MLB Debut Patch sold at Goldin for $1,098,000, the second MLB card to pass a million dollars and $12,000 short of Skenes. It is now fifth on this list, and the chart above includes it. The full story is here. The paragraphs below describe the list as it stood on September 25.

Paul Skenes’ card had been the top of this list since March 2025, when it sold for $1,110,000 on Fanatics Collect, and it stayed there through a year and a half of baseball sales. Nick Kurtz’s $516,000 in January was the closest anyone came. Then in one night three NBA cards went past Skenes, two of them by more than double.

Soccer is on the list too. Cavan Sullivan’s 2025 Topps Chrome MLS Debut Patch sold for $324,000 three weeks ago, which was reported at the time as roughly three times the previous record for any MLS card. That morning it sat sixth among Debut Patches, ahead of every baseball sale except Skenes and Kurtz.

And Derik Queen’s $162,000, the smallest of the four NBA results and a redemption at that, ties James Wood’s April sale for the last two places. The lowest NBA number from last night is level with the fifth biggest baseball sale ever recorded.

For a sense of scale beyond this program: eight-figure and high-seven-figure card sales get reported a few times a year, and plenty of large sales are private and never reported at all, so we are not going to claim a place on any all-time list. Within Debut Patches, where every number above has a listing or a named report behind it, the picture is clear enough on its own.

By the numbers

Live from the tracker, as of September 25, 2026: 54 of 99 NBA cards pulled; 12 sales totalling $13,597,794; highest NBA sale $8,040,000, Cooper Flagg; highest MLB $1,110,000, Paul Skenes; highest MLS $324,000, Cavan Sullivan.

Every NBA sale in this post is on the Has It Been Pulled tracker with its date, venue and a link to the listing, and it stays there as the record for this set. If you spot a sale we have missed, in any sport, the form at the bottom of that page comes straight to me.
